The earliest reference to Harmony School (sometimes referred to as Harmony North School to differentiate from the Harmony South School in Milam Township) is in 1896. The school was built on the southwest corner of Section 13, 1 mile east and 2 miles south of Maroa.
The old building was demolished in 1918 and replaced with a new schoolhouse.
The school was closed in 1947 as part of the Maroa-Forsyth School District consolidations. The building and land were sold in November 1947 for $2.500.
