Prairie Chapel School was located 3 miles east and 2 miles south of Maroa. The building was built c. 1870 and also served as Epworth Chapel Church for about 20 years until the church building was constructed in 1891.
The school closed after the 1947-1948 and was consolidated into the Argenta-Orena School District. The building was sold in August 1949 and was later demolished.
