Photograph of Independence School teacher and students from the class of 1932-33 standing on steps of the school building.

Independence School District #33 was 1.5 miles east of Forsyth on the south side of County Highway 20. The school opened prior to 1880 and was formed to stay "independent" of the Forsyth school.

Independence School closed in 1940.
