Pleasant Valley School was formed prior to June 1881 and was located 3.5 miles south of Maroa, Illinois on Route 51 in Macon County.

The school closed down after the 1933-1934 school year. In 1947, the school area was consolidated into the Maroa-Forsyth Unit District, and the buildings and land were sold off; the schoolhouse was demolished, and the land returned to farm ground.
